|
We evaluated 30 patients 30 eyes undergone cataract extraction after penetrating keratoplasty according to gender, age, corneal disease before penetrating keratoplasty. and these evaluation will help that surgeon determine the appropriate procedure[penetrating keratoplasty alone or combined with cataract extraction] for patiens. Mean interval between keratoplasty and cataract extraction 29 months. In according to gender, man was 31.4 months and women was 25.9 months. According to age, 33.1 months in under 50 years old and 24.9 months in over 50 years old. And according to corneal disease before keratoplasty, keratitis was 23.6 months, Fuchs dystrophy 20 months, keratoconus was 21.3 months. But, in mean interval cataract extraction following penetrating keratoplasty, no statistically significant difference was found according to age, gender, corneal disease before penetrating keratoplasty. Mean visual acuity was 0.08 before cataract extraction and 0.39 after cataract extraction. There was no difference in cataract formation after penetrating keratoplasty according to gender, age, corneal disease before keratoplasty. Therefore these factors were not considerable factors in determining appropriate procedure[penetrating keratoplasty alone or combined with cataract extraction]. |
