Abstract
Monocular recession and modified tuck procedures were performed in 33 patients of exotropia. The age ranged from 3 to 35 years (mean 8.7 years). After the follow up period of 2 to 15 months (mean 4.1 months), we obtained the following results. Preoperative and postoperative mean deviation angle of strabimus were 27.1 delta and 1.7 delta, respectively. And the success rate within +/-5 delta after operation was 75.8%. The bulging of the surgical lesion was noted immediately after modified tuck procedure and disappeared in 2 to 3 weeks. In conclusion, we obtained the satisfactory results in function and cosmesis.
