Abstract
PURPOSE
To assess the factors associated with recurrence rate with central serous chorioretinopathy patients. METHODS: Retrospective analysis of 73 patients was performed and the clinical manifestation, recurrence rate and visual outcome were analyzed. RESULTS: Fifty-four males and nineteen females were recruited. Mean age of patients was 41.8 years. The disease was bilateral in 5 patients and the mean size of serous detachment was 2.5 disc diameters. Recurrence rate was 47.9% (35 patients). Mean number of leaking point in fluorecein angiography was significantly higher in the recurrence group than that of the non-recurrence group (p=0.01). CONCLUSIONS: The number of leaking point was significantly associated with recurrence rate of the disease.
Key Words: central serous chorioretinopathy;prognostic factor;recurrence
